“This semester, I wanted to create a pot. But I didn't want to make just any old pot. I wanted to make the perfect pot. And so I did. It was the most perfect pot down to every detail. It had the perfect symmetry, and the perfect thickness, and the perfect texture, and it took so long. It took way too long. But I was very proud of my work. I had finally perfected the technique of coil building. Then, I went home for break, and when I got back, something had happened... My pot had begun to change. Its perfect surface began to crack and expand into a raw and rigid exoskeleton and an intricate chain began to evolve and rise from its mouth. It made horrible noises as it transformed. Frightened, I left it alone, and its decay eventually settled to what you see before you. I wish I still had my perfect pot for you to enjoy, but unfortunately nature has taken its course. Please try to enjoy.”
